Seattle Naturalists’ Event Roundup: August 3rd to August 9, 2026
Hey Naturalists, August has arrived! This week's lineup has a fun bat theme, with talks, guided walks, and community science events happening all over the region. There are also bird outings, restoration work parties, shoreline cleanups, geology hikes, and even a few opportunities to learn about seaweed, wetlands, and shorebirds. It’s still a great time to head to the Ballard Locks to watch the salmon making their way upstream, nomming on the many berries and fruits growing, catch bioluminescence on warm, dark evenings, and spend some time exploring low tide on Sunday. Cheers to enjoying the long summer days.
As always, check event pages for updates, registration requirements, and weather-related changes before heading out. Be mindful stewards of the places we visit. Leave no trace, respect wildlife, and help care for the lands and waters that make our region so special.
