Seattle Naturalists’ Event Roundup: August 10th to August 16, 2026

Hey Naturalists, it was a devasting week of fires. It was hard to think about weekend plans and getting outside when so many communities, landscapes, and wildlife are being impacted by wildfire and smoke.

If you’re heading outside, check local conditions and air quality first.

This week’s lineup has a little bit of everything: from low tide beach walks and naturalist programs to birding trips, bat trivia, community science, and plenty of ways to get your hands dirty with habitat restoration. There are also opportunities to learn about pollinators, trees, shorebirds, salmon habitat, wetlands, and even how insects help birds thrive.

Take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and take care of the places that take care of us.

As always, check event pages for updates, registration requirements, and weather-related changes before heading out. Be mindful stewards of the places we visit. Leave no trace, respect wildlife, and help care for the lands and waters that make our region so special.
